I've been having trouble with my garage door today; it keeps reversing and won't stay closed. I've already tried a few things like spraying WD-40 on the chain and checking the safety sensors, but it's still not working consistently. I'm not sure how to adjust the tension on the chain since I couldn't find a notch to turn. My garage door model is a LiftMaster 41D7675. Any advice on what to do next?

If your door won't close, it's probably a blockage in the electric beam from the sensors. Give them a good wipe and make sure the lights on each side are lined up. Clearing the area where the door stops is critical too. You'd be surprised how a tiny obstruction can mess things up.
Have you looked at the error code lights on the motor? They can usually tell you what's wrong when the door acts up. It's worth checking if you see any flashing lights.
Wait, are there actually error codes for these? I had no idea!
When your door goes back up, does it flash its lights? That usually means there's something in the way. Check for spider webs or leaves near the bottom; those block the sensors and often cause this issue. Mine does the same if there's debris around.
Also, sunlight can mess with the sensors. I've had mine reverse just because of the sun hitting them at certain times of day. It's annoying! Maybe try blocking the sun if that's the case.
Thanks for the tip!

Thank you! This makes sense.
