I'm trying to figure out the best option for a string trimmer for my yard. Right now, I've got an electric Black & Decker with two batteries that struggle to keep up; one battery only covers about 20% of the area before it runs out. I have a half-acre lot with a wooden fence, eight raised beds, and some fruit trees, so I'd love something that lasts longer on a single charge. I'm leaning towards gas trimmers but I'm concerned about the noise because I have some hearing loss and tinnitus, plus emissions due to asthma. I'm considering a Ryobi electric trimmer since I already have the batteries for my mower, but I've also looked at the Husqvarna 122L and Stihl 56. Any recommendations for good gas or electric trimmers that won't break the bank (keeping it under $250)?
