Hey everyone! I just ordered a small greenhouse (12x8) for this upcoming season to help extend my growing period and get things going earlier in the spring. Having moved from a warmer zone 7 to a cooler zone 4/5, I'm adjusting my gardening strategies. Last year was great with my new garden, but I'm hoping for even better results this time around. I have two requests: 1) I'd love to see your greenhouse or poly tunnel setups for some inspiration, and 2) What lessons have you learned that you wish you'd known when you first started using a greenhouse or tips in general? Thanks a bunch!

I built my 8x8 greenhouse out of cedar with a double layer of poly, and I mounted it on cinder blocks. It's surprisingly well-insulated. Just a tip: make sure to have a sturdy foundation so the wind doesn't take it away! I wish I'd made the top vent larger for summer; ventilation is key. For me, the only plants that thrive in there are peppers during summer, but it's great for early germination and hardening off seedlings. When my outdoor peppers start cooling off, I move them into the greenhouse to keep ripening.
Just got my greenhouse set up three weeks ago! I went with a misting system and exhaust fan since I'm in Texas. They really help with air circulation and prevent mold, plus when the fan runs, it slightly opens the door for continuous airflow. Super useful during those hot months!
That sounds great! I'm still waiting for the snow to melt here. I'm excited for my own little warm space soon!

Thanks for the tips! Definitely will consider that vent size!
