Hey everyone! I'm diving back into the world of electronics after doing some projects in high school, but I've forgotten a lot. As a music producer, I want to create a synthesizer from scratch using simple music-related projects, like a low pass filter. I prefer working with analog circuits rather than programming, so I have a few questions: 1) Do I really need to use something like Arduino, or can I build basic circuits without any coding? 2) What starter kit should I look into with a budget of around 100€? 3) Is there any other essential gear I should get to kick things off? 4) Are there any DIY synth experts out here who could lend me a hand? Thanks a bunch! - Nonomabo 🙂

I recommend checking out r/synthdiy for more resources and community support. It's a great place for beginners and DIY synth enthusiasts, so don’t hesitate to ask your questions there!
You should check out Moritz Klein’s YouTube channel! He has tons of content on DIY synth projects. Start with his early videos; they're really beginner-friendly. You can learn a lot from them!
Thanks for the tip! I'm watching the channel now, and the explanations are super clear. Do you think I should grab a general starter kit or should I focus on buying specific components individually?
Consider taking an amateur radio course! It’ll cover the basics of electronics, and you can even work towards getting a HAM license as a bonus. It'll really help you build a strong foundation in electronics.

Great idea! Should I post my questions directly there?
