I'm excited to start my gardening adventures with my 1000 square meters of inherited land in the tropics! I've always enjoyed eating eggplant, and I'd love to know more about growing them. What's the growing process like, and how much yield can I expect from each plant? Any advice for a beginner?

If you're considering mini eggplants like Hansel Italian purple, Gretel Italian white, or Little Fingers Asian purple, you'll enjoy a continuous harvest. I've had success with succession planting, where you plant new ones as the old ones start fading. I'm in a different climate, but it keeps things fresh!
In the tropics, eggplants can actually be perennials! Mine produce year-round, though the yield may drop in the winter months. Just keep that in mind based on your seasonal changes!
Eggplants are a great choice for beginners! They're relatively hardy and can be spaced about 16-18 inches apart. Depending on the variety, you might expect around 0-5 fruits per plant. Just a heads up, it's best not to plant them near tomatoes since they compete for nutrients. You'll do just fine if you follow these tips!
Thanks for answering my question!

Thanks for the advice! To clarify, should the 16-inch spacing apply both between rows and within the rows?
