I'm a 21-year-old girl looking for Father's Day gift ideas for my dad, who's been a carpenter most of his life. About seven years ago, he lost his sight, but he still loves woodworking. I'm trying to find tools or accessories that could make his work more accessible. In the past, I've gifted him items like a magnetic Velcro bracelet for holding small parts and an audible measuring tape, which helps him take measurements on his own. I also got him a voice-activated level and a brad nailer for safety. I'm wondering if anyone has other suggestions for tools or gadgets that could assist him in continuing his carpentry work despite his vision loss. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

How about some safety glasses for extra protection? It could be a fun gift! If that's too light, consider getting a push block for his table saw. Those types of jigs and safety items can help him work more confidently and minimize any hassles.
I don't have specific tools in mind, but I wanted to say how amazing it is that you're looking for ways to support your dad's woodworking passion despite his challenges. Much respect to you!

Thanks so much! When he started losing his vision, he promised he wouldn't give up woodworking. It’s become my mission to support him, but I’m definitely not an expert in tools myself!
