Hey everyone! I'm a first-time gardener and I've just secured my very first community garden plot. I'm super excited but here's the catch—it's really small, only 18 inches by 24 inches! I'm in central Maryland, so I need some advice on what to plant in that tiny space. I'm also thinking about adding some planters next to my stoop in the city, so any ideas for those would be great too.

For your small plot, I suggest going with salad greens like lettuce, arugula, and maybe some cherry tomatoes. They’re pretty easy to grow in limited space. You can even find packs for radicchio and endive that can be cut and harvested multiple times!
Are you leaning more towards flowers or veggies? That'll help narrow things down! You can totally go for both! Right now, I'm looking into 'cut and come again' flowers, which are perfect for small spaces since they keep growing back after you cut them.

I've got a small patio garden myself, and I grow a variety of veg. You can do tomatoes, cucumbers, and sweet peppers. I really like the Gypsy variety of sweet peppers and Japanese eggplants—they do great even in tight spots!
