Hey everyone! I'm just starting out in gardening and focusing mainly on flowers for now. I'd love to hear any tips or advice you might have for a newbie like me. What should I keep in mind as I get started?

Definitely check out online resources! I’ve been gardening for 40 years, and I still learn new things online. Most folks think it's just planting a seed and watering it like crazy, but there's much more to it. Using proper equipment, like a light meter for indoor plants or knowing how much to water is crucial. For beginners, I suggest the book "Square Foot Gardening" if you're into veggies. If you set up raised beds, start with a mix of soil and compost. And remember, not every plant needs water every day—check the soil first!

For sure, don’t overthink it! Just get your hands dirty and learn as you go. YouTube has tons of great tutorials for beginners on specific plants or techniques. And if you mess up, it's not the end of the world—just try again. Remember that every gardener started somewhere!

First off, enjoy the process! Remember, it's totally normal for some plants to die as you learn. A big tip is to plant native flowers; they tend to thrive with little care. Also, start with just a few plants so it's manageable, and make sure there's some space between them to grow. Mix it up with some tall plants, some that fill in spaces, and others that creep! That's a balanced garden look for you.
