Got the Wrong Battery: Is an 8.0 Forge Better Than a 6.0?

I ordered a 6.0 Forge battery from eBay for $115, but the seller sent me an 8.0 instead. When I reached out to him about the mix-up, he gave me the option to keep the 8.0 or return it for a refund. My concern is whether this was an intentional mistake. Is the 8.0 a bad deal compared to the 6.0, considering that the 6.0 is smaller, lighter, and charges faster? What do you all think about this situation?

I feel your pain with the bulkiness. I've had 5.0s and switched to 8.0 and 12.0 units, and while they work great, they can be heavy for smaller tools. If you want something light, a 2.0 battery might be a better fit for precision work.

That’s a good point! I’ll keep that in mind.

It really depends on the seller's reputation. Just make sure it’s an authentic Milwaukee battery and not a fake. If it still has the original price tag from Home Depot, you should be good!

Yeah, it's definitely legit.

Honestly, don’t overthink it. Just use the 8.0 battery and move on! It's a solid upgrade, and you’ll probably appreciate the extra power.

Thanks for the advice!

All in all, the 8.0 is better in pretty much every way except for its weight. But for performance, you’re getting a better deal here!

That’s what I needed to hear! Thanks!

The 8.0 is definitely a better battery overall. It provides more power, so if you're using it for heavier tasks, it should perform really well for you.
