Growing Plants in Water: What Works Best?

Hey everyone! I'm curious about the plants you have thriving in water. Currently, I have a few pothos plants in water, but I'm eager to explore other options! What plants have you had success with, and do you have any tips on how long they can live in water? Also, are there any plants I should avoid keeping in water? Thanks a bunch!

I've had great success with Christmas, Easter, and Thanksgiving cacti in water—they even bloom for me! I also like to take spider plant babies and stick them in water until they root before moving them out.

Thank you so much! I was thinking of trying my spider plant, so that is great to know! ?

I have a variegated ivy that's been chilling in water for four years! I change the water weekly and add a tiny bit of fertilizer. It's doing well, but I noticed new growth tends to die off after a few weeks lately. Maybe I should switch it to soil soon?

I’ve never owned an ivy plant, but that's good info for future purchases! Do you think it’s okay to switch it back and forth between water and soil every so often?
