Gutter Guards: Are They Glued On? How Do I Clean Them?

Hey everyone, I have a quick question about my gutters. I'm wondering if it's common for gutter guards to be installed under shingles with adhesive. If so, how am I supposed to clean the gutters? I'm concerned that the previous owner may have bought into the 'no maintenance' gimmick without considering the upkeep involved. I looked for screws but couldn't find any, which makes me think they might be glued. I really need to clean my gutters, but I don't want to risk damaging my shingles since they aren't new either. Any advice from those experienced in gutter installation would be much appreciated! I'm planning on buying a tool to help me clean out the gutters, but I'm worried there won't be enough room to use a garden hose either.

It sounds like a tricky situation! If your guards are mesh-type, you might be able to use a power washer to clean them, but if they're solid like you mentioned, you’ll have to remove them. I understand the struggle of wanting to keep everything intact, though!

I wish I had mesh—mine are solid, so I’ll have to figure out a way to move them while I clean.
