I really enjoy using my M18 chainsaw, but I sometimes find myself cutting large logs where I have access to 120VAC power. Has anyone ever created an adapter that can supply 12 amps at 18 volts? I think this could be a great product for Milwaukee to offer, but I'm also open to building one myself if needed. Just wanted to see if anyone here has attempted this before.

You should keep in mind that these powerful tools draw a significant amount of current, which means you'll need heavy-duty cables to support 18V. We’re talking about handling 100A, not just 12A. It’d be quite an experience trying to manage a thick welding cable attached to your saw, haha!
How many batteries do you have? A rapid charger and at least two batteries would be a smart setup if you’re looking for extended usage. But honestly, attaching a cord to a chainsaw could limit its portability. You could end up fumbling around for the cord instead of just enjoying the freedom of the tool! True! I was actually thinking about maybe going the other way and using AC to power it, packing a 40 amp power supply into the space of an M18 12Ah battery. That would just be 15 amps at 120VAC. But hey, I know it’s not exactly practical; I just really want to see if it could work!
