I've got a DXV09P-QT StealthSonic 9-gallon shop vac that I bought about 8 months ago from Lowe's, and it just died on me after using it with a handheld orbital sander. After it sat idle for about six hours, I found it wouldn't turn on at all. I checked the power outlet and the cord, and verified that power gets to the switch and through it when turned on. Seems like it might be a motor issue. I plan to call DeWalt warranty support, but I'm unsure about the process of returning a big tool for repair. I don't have the original box anymore, and shipping it might cost me around $80! Is it worth it for a $150 device? Any tips or experiences with this?

I understand your concern about shipping costs. When I returned a tool before, the cost was pretty high too, but I felt it was worth it since the tool was still under warranty. Maybe see if DeWalt has options for local repairs, or ask them about cheaper shipping methods. It could save you some bucks!
Yeah, it has a 3-Year Limited Warranty and a year of free service, so you’re covered there! You should definitely reach out to DeWalt's warranty support directly. Just be prepared for the shipping costs – it can be a hassle! But if the vac is still under warranty, it might be worth it in the end.
