I've been seeing posts about stolen tools popping up every week, whether they're taken from truck beds, trailers, or even locked site boxes. I've been a victim myself, more than once. I'm really curious to know if anyone has actually managed to recover their stolen tools. I want to hear genuine stories, not just people saying they filed a police report. Have you ever tracked your tools down using methods like serial numbers, AirTags, or maybe even catching someone on Marketplace? What worked for you? Your insight could help others avoid losing a lot of money in the future.

I've managed to get my tools back two or three times! That’s pretty rare, I think, and it really depends on the police response in your area. We use about 200 AirTags for our business to track job sites. When we’ve had tools stolen, we shared the live location with the police, and it seemed to help a lot. If they think there's a larger theft operation, or if you say you're on your way to check it out, they tend to take action. Having that live location made all the difference.

That's interesting! What platform do you use for tracking the job sites with AirTags?
