Has Anyone Successfully Used Coyote Decoys to Deter Deer?

I'm dealing with a deer problem in my backyard, which has a steep hillside filled with plants that they love to munch on. It leads to a flatter area of about a quarter acre that's surrounded by woods. I've noticed they come in from the upper lot at the back, and I'm thinking of trying a coyote decoy placed in the center of that upper lot. I found a decent-looking 3D coyote decoy online for around $75, but I'm wondering if it's worth it or just a waste of money. I also understand that to be effective, it'd need to be moved around frequently. Additionally, I just started using Deer Scram, which seems somewhat effective but I've still seen a young deer creeping up to the bushes. I'm considering that a coyote decoy might work well alongside the Deer Scram. Has anyone tried using the Air Crow Scare Dancer? It looks like it could be effective, but it's a bit pricey and I'm unsure about the motor's durability in the rain.

I’ve had a few clients who’ve placed wolf decoys around their ponds to keep geese and deer away. They found them pretty ineffective, though. Maybe it depends on the area or the specific type of decoy you use?

Did they use 3D wolf decoys or just the flat ones?

I’ve got a skeleton named Charles that I set up in my yard. He’s about 5 feet tall and has these red solar blinking lights inside that make him stand out at night. I can see deer moving along the tree line now, but they don’t venture into my yard anymore! He also wears old hats and scarves, which is kind of fun. I'm thinking of getting another one since they’re cheap this time of year. Good luck!

That sounds awesome! Does he move around like those inflatable figures that pump air? I bet that would freak deer out! ?
