Has Anyone Tackled Attic Mold Remediation Themselves?

As a first-time homeowner, I'm facing an attic mold issue that I suspect is linked to the previous owner's habit of venting the bathroom fan straight into the attic. I'm arranging for an evaluation of the ventilation to ensure everything's in order. I expect the remediation costs to be around $2,000 to $4,000. I'm curious if anyone has attempted this type of mold remediation on their own? From my research, it seems like I just need a respirator, a Tyvek suit, goggles, gloves, and a sprayer with suitable chemicals like Concrobium. The plan is to kill the mold first, then physically remove it using something like bleach. I'd appreciate any advice on preferred chemicals, approaches, or insights specific to eastern Canada. Thanks!

You might want to look into your ventilation more than just addressing the mold itself. It would be a good idea to use a humidity sensor in the attic to keep an eye on moisture levels. You may need additional vents or even forced venting. For the mold, spraying something to kill it off is usually enough, and you might not need to remove it physically if the wood is still solid. Just monitor things closely!

Any suggestions on reliable humidity sensor models? There are so many options available online that it's hard to tell which ones are actually worth it.
