I'm dealing with a leaking AC unit that has no coolant left. Has anyone had experience with using a leak-fix product to address this issue? I'm curious about its effectiveness and any other advice you might have.

As a former HVAC tech, I've seen mixed results with those leak fix products. They usually have about a 25% success rate, but considering they cost around $100, it might be worth a shot for you! Just keep your expectations in check.

That's helpful, but my issue is quite severe. I'm having to add like 8 pounds of coolant at a time, and fixing it right will probably cost closer to $2000. This system is from the early '90s, so it only has this leak to deal with.
