Why aren't they more popular given that price? Are they on par with the XC batteries, or do they not perform well as high-output options for newer tools? I'm looking to diversify my tool options, but I wonder if these batteries really hold up, especially since most of my tools draw a lot of power.

I think the price cut might be a result of them not being priced well initially. They do use decent 21700 cells, so you could compare them to a pre-Forge HO XC 8.0. If you’re looking at other brands, consider using adapters—just remember to avoid draining the Milwaukee batteries too much. Ridgid batteries could be good too since they handle over-drawing better.
