Has Anyone Tried Ceenr Batteries? Are They Worth It?

I've been seeing ads for Ceenr's platform-agnostic batteries, especially the 8.0 model priced at $50. I'm curious if anyone's actually tried these batteries. Why aren't they more popular given that price? Are they on par with the XC batteries, or do they not perform well as high-output options for newer tools? I'm looking to diversify my tool options, but I wonder if these batteries really hold up, especially since most of my tools draw a lot of power.

I think the price cut might be a result of them not being priced well initially. They do use decent 21700 cells, so you could compare them to a pre-Forge HO XC 8.0. If you’re looking at other brands, consider using adapters—just remember to avoid draining the Milwaukee batteries too much. Ridgid batteries could be good too since they handle over-drawing better.

Honestly, for saving $50, it's risky to compromise quality. I tried a different off-brand battery years ago and it messed up my charger. However, these Ceenr ones are supposed to be made with quality cells, so maybe they aren't quite the same as typical knock-offs. But there are still other downsides, which is likely why they're not widely accepted in the market.

Fair point! Just to clarify, these batteries do have decent cells, but the other caveats remain. It's good to be cautious, especially when it comes to expensive tools.

I've seen some coworkers use these batteries at work. They usually carry two of them for tasks like die grinding or drilling. So that should give you a clue about their capacity.

Typically, generic batteries tend to deliver about half of what they claim in amp hours. Plus, you can't expect the same quality you'd find in branded ones. Just something to keep in mind as you ponder your options!
