Has Anyone Tried Using AI for Their DIY Projects?

Hey all! I'm deep into some DIY projects right now, and I've been thinking about whether AI tools like ChatGPT, DALL·E, or Midjourney can really be useful in the process. I've played around a little with ChatGPT to brainstorm ideas and double-check steps, but I'm super curious about your experiences!

- Have any of you used AI to plan or carry out a DIY project? Even just for coming up with design ideas or material lists?
- If you have, did you find it helpful or more trouble than it was worth?
- Are there things you wish AI could do better, like provide more accurate instructions or cost estimates?
- And for those who haven't tried it, what's holding you back?

I'd love to hear about your cool successes, funny fails, or any random tips. Is AI just another gadget in your toolbox, or is it more of a fad? Feel free to share any examples you have. Thanks a ton!

Using AI for brainstorming has been a game changer for me, especially for my comedy routine! I also tried it for tips on making a custom scented candle, and it surprisingly offered some good advice. I usually double-check things, but it definitely helps cut through the clutter of Google results, which can be a mess with ads.

Sounds like a fun use for AI! I never thought about using it for creative writing. Love that you're also whipping up a custom candle—how's that going?

I recently used ChatGPT to help debug some Arduino code for an LED sign I was making. It really saved me a lot of time explaining technical stuff that I was struggling with. It's impressive how it can break things down, even for niche topics like circuit design!

Nice! I’d be curious how well it handled the specifics. Did it give you the right direction through all the complicated wiring?

I've found AI super useful, especially as a troubleshooting buddy. I treat it like that neighbor who seems to know everything about manuals—kind of quirky but helpful! I mostly use it to clear up confusion or speed up problem-solving in my projects, and it has worked great most of the time, though I still double-check the info for peace of mind.

Ha! That’s a perfect way to think of it. I guess we just have to keep its quirks in mind and not take every suggestion at face value!
