I found some birch hardwood flooring on Facebook Marketplace for just $80, and I'm curious if anyone here has experience using it for DIY projects. Is it suitable for things like small boxes or furniture?

Absolutely! It's ideal if you can get unfinished flooring. If you have a planer, you can easily tidy up the underside and make it look great for your project.

Yep, I’ve used hardwood flooring for projects! It works really well for small items like boxes. Just keep in mind that if it’s pre-finished, the aluminum oxide can really mess up planer blades. I usually use a belt sander with ceramic paper to strip that finish off first.

Thanks for the tip! I didn’t even think about the finish ruining my tools.

For sure! I’ve made some planter boxes and coasters with leftover hardwood flooring. I even used some old cedar from a remodel. It can be a great way to reuse materials!
