Has Home Depot Cracked Down on Tool ‘Hacking’?

Hey everyone! I recently managed to get the M12 cutoff tool for just $83, pairing it with two 5Ah batteries for $113. When I tried to return the batteries, the store insisted that I had to return both items, even though they each have their own prices. This is the first time I've been told no after doing this successfully several times over the past year. I'm curious if anyone else has experienced this and if there are any changes happening as a result.

Yeah, I've run into the same issue! I tried to return a tool and was denied today, had to return everything. Seems like they’re getting stricter about partial returns lately, probably due to the buzz around it. It's a bummer because it was a good run for hacking deals. Guess too many people started talking about it online!

It's definitely been a good run, but I think resellers have messed it up for everyone. Now it seems like some stores are really clamping down on these returns, which is a shame. I’ve been reselling the batteries online, but my area hasn’t been very hot for M12 products.

Same here! The returns are getting tougher, but I’ve had some luck selling batteries too, just not as much lately.

I believe it's been hit or miss depending on the store. Some are still honoring partial returns, while others have tightened up. Just had a situation where I was told the same thing you experienced. Some people suggest ordering items for pickup at different locations if you're gonna try hacking, but even that's getting tricky as their policies shift.

That's true! I’ve heard of people using that method successfully, but looks like they’re really catching on.
