I've been dealing with a serious horsetail infestation since I started my allotment a couple of years ago. Last year, I covered most of the paths with woodchip instead of carpet and gravel, which I inherited. I also have mulch on my beds. Today, I spotted just one unhealthy-looking horsetail stem peeking out from one of my beds, and it made me wonder—shouldn't I be seeing more of them by now? Have I really managed to get rid of it without realizing?

Yeah, it's definitely not easy to get rid of horsetail. While it can be controlled, it usually finds a way to come back. Just keep an eye out!
I've noticed the same thing! I usually have a bunch sprouting by now, but I've only pulled two this season. I'm starting to think the dry weather has affected their growth this year.
I'm in the same boat with my bindweed—haven't seen it popping up yet, but I'm not letting my guard down. It's wild how little rain we've had; that could be why we're not seeing as much growth this year. But don’t get too hopeful about horsetail; it'll probably make a comeback!

Thanks for the heads-up! I’ll definitely stay vigilant.
