Help! A Bear Stepped on My Onions – Can I Save Them?

So, I had a bit of an unexpected wildlife encounter in my garden. A bear found its way in and not only stole my empty vermicomposting buckets but also stomped all over my onions, breaking the tops off! They're still pretty small, so I'm wondering if I should go ahead and harvest them now, or do you think they can bounce back from this?

That sounds like quite the adventure! I'd suggest leaving the onions as they are for now and see if they can recover. Plants can be surprisingly tough! How much green do they have left after the bear's visit?

Here’s what the damage looks like, just a bit squished from the bear's giant feet!

I'll take a look after work and see what I can snap a pic of! I even caught the bear on security cam stealing my buckets.
