Hey everyone! I just moved into a new place and I've noticed some problems with my shower that I'm really worried about. There are some gaps between the curb and the threshold where there's mold buildup, both inside and outside the shower. The threshold is completely level with no slope, which is causing water to pool and mold to accumulate at the caulk. Plus, I've found small pinholes in the grout, and I'm not sure if they could lead to leaks. I believe there's supposed to be waterproofing underneath, but I'm starting to doubt it. Can anyone advise if these gaps can just be sealed with silicone caulk, or do I need to look for more serious issues? What about fixing the slope of the threshold or dealing with the pinholes in the grout? Should I just tear the whole thing out?

Don’t worry too much about the pinholes; they typically won’t lead to leaks. Just make sure to thoroughly clean that joint where the threshold meets the curb and then caulk it—I'd recommend using 100% silicone caulk from Mapei since it adheres really well. Make sure to apply it at all the changes of plane in the shower. By the way, it looks like they grouted the tile pretty low, which is something to keep an eye on!
