Hey everyone! I'm a newbie at this, and I'm trying to mount my 42-inch flat-screen TV in my new apartment to save some space. I've got all my tools, marked the walls, and even found the right drill bits. However, every time I drill into the wall, I'm hitting metal studs instead of wood. I've tried a few different spots based on my stud finder, but it's always coming up metal or empty drywall. Now I've got a TV mount and a bunch of holes in my wall, and I'm really at a standstill. Any tips on how to mount my TV properly? Thanks a ton!

One option is to drill a larger hole and use expanding molly bolts. They'll anchor into the metal stud and should hold the TV securely. Just ensure you get the right size!

Thanks for the suggestion! I'm not super familiar with molly bolts, but I did some digging and found some that can hold up to 90lbs in drywall. Seems a bit risky, though, so I'm thinking about trying to penetrate the metal if that's possible too!
