I'm in the middle of a bathroom remodel, and I've run into a problem with the shower tile installation. The ceiling isn't level, which has created a gap of about an inch above the tile on the long wall of the shower, while the tile fits snugly against the ceiling on the side walls. The project manager is coming by tomorrow to assess the issue and hinted at using drywall mud to fill this gap. I'm concerned about that approach, especially being directly above the shower with all the moisture involved. I'm not very knowledgeable in this area and would love to hear any suggestions or experiences that might help resolve this situation!

Instead of using drywall mud, I'd suggest going for a filler rod along with silicone caulk. The filler rod can take up most of the gap, and the caulk will seal everything up, making it look smooth. Trust me, drywall compound won't hold up well in a gap this big and can be tough to make it look nice!

I think he meant to use caulk, not mud. Just wondering though, won't there be an odd gap on one wall compared to the others? It's really frustrating, especially not knowing who to point fingers at if things go south!
