Help! I Used Preen Extended Control in My Garden—What Now?

Hey everyone! I recently started prepping a patch of dirt for gardening and unknowingly applied Preen Extended Control. After putting it down, I noticed it specifically says not to use it in food gardens. I attempted to scrape off the treated layer of dirt, but I'm super anxious about whether it's safe to plant anything there now. What should I do to make sure it's safe before I start planting? If it's not safe, how long do I need to wait before it's okay to plant—even up to a year? I really regret not checking the label more thoroughly before using it.

Considering your situation, you might want to think about raising the bed in that area. It could help separate your plants from the contaminated soil.

How long do you think I'd need to wait before using this location? A year?
