I got a Dewalt EV charger from someone, but now it's showing a fault code and flashing. It seems almost new, and Dewalt offers a 3-year warranty, yet their support claims they can't look up the QR code for it. They refuse to honor the warranty since I don't have the receipt. This is puzzling because I've had success in the past with Dewalt items using their date codes. I also shared two pictures of the QR code here: [https://imgur.com/a/tU6YIXe](https://imgur.com/a/tU6YIXe). I'm looking for any advice or suggestions to deal with this situation since Dewalt isn't helping me at all.

You might try the route of buying a new charger and then returning the faulty one in its original packaging. It's a bit of a grey area, but if they aren’t honoring their warranty, it's hard to feel too bad about it.
At the end of the day, you just want your charger working, right? Can’t blame you for thinking outside the box.
I'm just curious, what makes the Dewalt charger better than ones designed specifically for vehicles? Is it more universal or just a matter of preference? Just trying to understand the hype!
One option could be to buy a new Dewalt charger from Amazon or Home Depot. Use that receipt, and when you return the original, you can say it was defective. Just a thought - it’s a bit morally questionable, but people do it all the time, especially with companies that aren’t backing their products well. Dewalt definitely needs to step up their service game compared to Milwaukee.
If you can reach out to the person you got it from, asking them for the original receipt might help. That could resolve the warranty issue.
Unfortunately, Dewalt's warranty typically only applies to the original buyer, so it won't transfer to you. That might be why they aren't able to assist with your claim. You might need to consider other options.

Yeah, it's a bit risky but sometimes you have to do what you have to do! Just be careful with how you handle the return.
