Hey everyone! I'm just starting out with gardening, and I've discovered some bugs in my garden bed today. They're small and there are a lot of them, and I'm a bit worried they might be harmful. I really want to protect my cilantro while figuring out what to do about these pests. Does anyone have tips on how to get rid of bugs in my garden without damaging my plants?

From what you described—small and numerous—it sounds like they could be springtails, which often live in soil. However, if you see them on the plants, they might be aphids. If they're aphids, you can wash them off with water or use insecticidal soap to keep your cilantro safe. Just make sure to test any solution on a small part of the plant first!
It would be super helpful if you could post a picture of the bugs! That way, we can help you identify them better. Since you're new, identifying the pest is a great first step in finding a solution!

Good idea! I’ll snap a picture tomorrow since it's too dark to see them now.
