I'm frustrated! This is my second time trying to keep a money tree alive. Although it lasted longer than the first one, I just can't seem to get it right. I suspect it might be a moisture issue, but I could really use some guidance. On a positive note, my ivy is thriving! What are some other plants I could reasonably care for without killing them?

Your money tree needs chunky soil that drains well. Let it dry out almost completely between waterings. If you're looking for something low-maintenance, try getting a snake plant or a ZZ plant. They're pretty hardy, just be careful not to overwater them. If you do, it's game over.
Honestly, I find that a bit of neglect works wonders. Place your money tree by an east or west-facing window, and just check in on it every now and then. Ask yourself, "Have I watered you lately?" and then maybe water it a week later. Mix it up—sometimes give it a full cup, and other times just a splash. They seem to thrive on that kind of unpredictability!
Have you checked for those rubber bands holding the roots together? I read somewhere that they can cause issues. We recently repotted our plant and found one, removed it, and now it’s looking way healthier!
