I've never seen a roach in my life, but today I found one in my bedroom! We live in a nice, clean apartment, so this was really surprising. It was about an inch long, brownish-red, and I only found this one. I put it outside, but I'm unsure if that's enough. My office says they can't spray or check for pests until April 1st. I sprayed some Raid, but I don't know if that will help. Should I be worried? What should I do next?

You might wanna check around your place for any more roaches. Sometimes they can come from neighbors, so look under things outside too. If you see more, pour some soapy water on them—it can help. Just keep an eye out!
If you're in the South, it could be a palmetto bug, which is actually a big cockroach. Sadly, there's usually more than one, so it might not be a one-time thing. But don't sweat it; having one doesn’t say anything about your cleanliness!
Living in Hawaii, I’ve seen my share of roaches. The little ones don’t even bother me anymore! Just remember, there are many types of roaches, and not all of them are pests. If it’s just one, and it didn't run for its life when the light came on, it’s likely not a big deal. Just watch for the tiny German ones—they’re the troublemakers!

Thanks for the info! It was on its back at first, but when I flipped it, it tried to scurry away. I caught it with a cup, lol!
