Help me choose between these M12 tool combos after getting my new ratchet!

I just picked up a Milwaukee M12 3/8" Ratchet (model 2457-20) for $65, and now I'm trying to figure out the best battery and tool combo to get next. I'm considering whether to buy just a battery (maybe a 2 Ah?) and a charger, or if I should get a combo set that includes a battery and charger along with another tool. Here are the options I'm looking at, listed from cheapest to most expensive:

1) M12 2551-22 Fuel SURGE 1/4 in Hex Hydraulic Driver + 2 batteries (2Ah) + charger for $130

2) M12 2505-22 Fuel Installation Drill/Driver + 2 batteries (2Ah) + charger for $160

3) M12 3404-20 Hammer Drill Driver + 3453-20 M12 Impact Driver + 2 batteries (2Ah + 4Ah) + charger for $200

I want to know which combo is the best deal and what makes each tool unique. I work in mechanics, but I also want something to help with home projects like furniture assembly and drilling into masonry (though I think I might need a different tool for that). The last option includes a larger battery which might be useful. What would you choose and why? I'm not too concerned about the price difference, just the overall value and functionality of these tools. I don't think I'd need any other impact wrench since I have the ratchet already, especially since the price for the combo with the M12 Impact Wrench seems high. Any thoughts?

Honestly, I'd lean towards option #1 if you're aiming to save some bucks. The Surge isn't my favorite, but it could work for someone who just needs a basic impact driver. However, if you can afford it, I recommend going for number #3 because the tools are really top-notch. Just make sure you use a higher capacity battery for those longer jobs!

Good to know! I appreciate all the advice!

Yeah, the Surge just didn't impress me either; thanks for the heads up!

I'd definitely go with option #3 for the Hammer Drill Driver and Impact Driver combo. The impact driver is seriously one of the best tools from Milwaukee; it's perfect for drilling smaller holes and the quick-change feature for drill bits is a lifesaver. Plus, the inclusion of a 4Ah battery is a great bonus since it offers more runtime. The drill in that combo is solid and handles masonry tasks well, thanks to its hammer mode. So, if you can swing it, that's the way to go!

Yeah, I think I might just go for that combo after hearing your thoughts.

Thanks for the insight! That impact driver sounds rad.

I'd recommend option #2, the Installation Drill/Driver. It’s versatile and makes for a great tool for assembling furniture. You can still use impact bits with it, and it’s super handy in tight spaces with those offset heads. The Surge isn't that impressive—it's too loud for what it is, and I often grab my other tools before it. Keep it simple with number two if you're looking for something practical for home use!

Awesome, I hadn't thought about how useful it could be for furniture assembly!

I totally agree! Option #2 is great for light tasks around the house.
