Help Me Choose My Go-To Circular Saw from Milwaukee’s M18 Fuel Line

Hey everyone! I'm a builder working on various projects like houses, additions, and renovations. I've got all three of the Milwaukee M18 Fuel circular saws: the 6 1/2", the 7 1/4" sidewinder, and the 7 1/4" rear handle. I'm trying to decide which one to keep with me all the time. I prefer blade-left saws, but I'm finding that all three are pretty dusty, even the new rear handle with the dust port! I also carry a track saw along with me, and I'm torn between the three options. The 6 1/2" is lighter and cuts through 2x lumber easily, but I'm unsure if it will stand up to heavy framing work. For those of you who have experience with these saws, which one do you think is the best for all-around framing and versatility? If you had to pick just one, which would it be?

I've used all of them, and my favorites are definitely the 7 1/4” models – both the standard and the rear handle. The rear handle is like a worm drive but still acts as a regular saw. If you're cutting through 3/4" material all day, it’s a true workhorse, though it’s on the heavier side. For lighter tasks like 2x4s or 2x10s, they perform great! The 6 1/2” is a bit underpowered for heavy commercial jobs, so I keep mine for smaller projects. Also, the track saw is a solid choice if you're considering cleanliness and precision! Good luck!

I feel you on that! I also have a track saw in my car. What’s your take on the 7 1/4” options since they all have the same RPM?

Just a heads-up, the worm drive and rear handle saws aren’t the same! The Milwaukee rear handle has the same drivetrain as the standard ones.
