Help Me Get Started with Hand Tools!

Hey everyone! I'm a total beginner in woodworking and I've managed to build some simple projects like a sandbox, a workbench, and some shelves. I'm looking to dive into using hand tools, but honestly, I'm pretty overwhelmed and confused. I've watched a bunch of videos, especially from Paul Sellers and others, but they leave me scratching my head. I don't want to start a debate between hand tools and power tools, as I currently rely heavily on power tools because hand tools seem intimidating to me.

What I really need is some beginner-friendly resources—videos and books that explain the basics: which tools to start with, how to use them, when to choose hand tools, and good instructional videos. There's so much information out there, and I just want a solid starting point. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Check out Rex Kreuger's YouTube channel; he's great for beginners and focuses on hand tools. His videos are easy to follow and super helpful! It's a perfect starting point for someone who feels lost.

Honestly, don’t get caught up in the power tools vs. hand tools debate. I started with power tools, and now I mix both according to what the project needs. They each have their advantages! Getting comfortable with hand tools can make your woodworking skills better overall.

Exactly! I plan to use both too, but I really need help figuring out where to start with hand tools.
