I've been trying my hand at vegetable gardening in a raised bed for three years now, but so far it's been a disaster. I've planted lettuce, tomatoes, peppers, strawberries, and some flowers, but everything gets eaten by squirrels and rabbits, or my seeds just won't germinate. I'm really looking for advice on how to have at least one successful growing season! What should I plant in a 6x11 bed, and what are some top tips or tricks to protect my plants and ensure they thrive? I don't want to give up on my gardening dreams!

To keep those pesky squirrels and rabbits at bay, you might want to try some hoops and netting. They work great as a barrier! Also, I hear a good farm dog can help a lot. I had my share of trouble when I started—groundhogs would pop up and snack on my tomatoes. So frustrating! If your seeds aren’t sprouting, there could be more going on, but definitely protect them first!

Thanks for the tips! I’ll look into the netting and maybe get a dog. Groundhogs sound like a real hassle!
