I just moved back into my childhood home and it's, well, a bit of a nightmare thanks to my younger self. The walls are painted a bright Watermelon Smoothie pink, covered in quotes I found on Pinterest, a terrible mural of a Minecraft portal, and there are rainbow handprints all over. I'm turning this room into my 5-month-old daughter's nursery and need advice on what color to paint the trim around the room. The baseboards, door frames, and window casings are currently brown and just don't seem to match the vibe I'm aiming for. We're also planning to replace the carpet since the current tan one is pretty stained from all the years my sister and I shared this room. Any other tips would really help! Just FYI, it's a little tricky to see the current colors, but the 11-foot walls are purple and the 18-foot walls are grey. Check out the room here: https://imgur.com/a/jGR1NNV

If you're looking to completely change the room, I'd recommend using a primer first. That’ll help reduce the number of coats of the new colors you'll need. It really depends on the vibe you want to create. Personally, I lean towards a spooky but cute style—maybe something like an Addams Family nursery? That could be fun! But hey, make it about your kid's style too!

That's what I want too! I would love to keep my preferences out of it so she can express herself one day. I mean, my birthday is on October 30th, so I'm a little goth at heart ? and she was born just 10 days before, so who knows, she might follow in my footsteps!
