Help Me Set Up Solar on My ’94 Winnebago!

I'm looking to install a solar system on my 1994, 32-foot Winnebago. I've got 10 Renogy 100W 12V panels, 4 LiTime 12V 100Ah LiFePO4 batteries, and a Bluetti AC200L that might be useful for this setup. I'm feeling overwhelmed because I don't have much electrical knowledge and I have a generator, shore power, and an alternator on board that also charges the batteries. I need some help with how to wire everything. I've heard the MC4 connectors are rated for 30 amps, which has left me confused about how to connect all this. Should I go with a parallel wiring setup or series, and do I need separate charge controllers? I'm also considering using T-Tracks on the roof with 3M VHB tape for installation. If I run four panels to one charge controller, what's the best controller to use? I could really use clear guidance here!

About those MC4 connectors, they can vary in rating. You might’ve seen some lower-rated versions. If you go for the right connectors, like a reputable one with 8 AWG wires, they can handle much higher currents (up to 65A). It might just be a matter of sourcing the right parts!

I had no clue they made better connectors! I thought it was all limited to the 30A ones I found. Thanks for pointing that out!

It sounds like you might be taking on a big project if all this tech is new to you. Adding solar is definitely doable, but since you’re not well-versed in electrical systems, I'd recommend starting simple. Make sure you fully understand the existing system before making changes. It may also help to have someone experienced to assist you. Just take it one step at a time!
