Hey everyone! So during a recent mold inspection, we found mold on the insulation within the walls of our first-floor space. The inspector discovered it while checking the attic, but luckily, the rafters there were clear. We suspect that the insulation installation wasn't done right since it should've been sealed off from the attic area. The mold tested positive for Hyphae and Penicillium/Aspergillus, which has us worried. We've got to remove the insulation and drywall from the main floor, treat the area, and replace everything. Our big question is—where is this mold coming from? Could it be linked to the flooring or foundation, or is it possibly due to warm air from the attic? Has anyone dealt with something similar before? Just to note, this space used to be a garage before the previous owners converted it.

Yeah, we don’t have any bathroom plumbing on that side of the house, but the hill makes us worried about foundation issues. It's odd that the walls have mold but not the higher attic areas.
