I'm struggling with my bathtub drain, and it's turning into quite the challenge. I used to have slow drainage, but now it's completely clogged. I've tried snaking both the overflow and the drain, even cut an access panel behind the tub to check things out, but I'm no plumbing expert. After trying to plunge it for a good hour this morning, it drained slowly again but then got blocked up once more. I didn't see any significant blockage, just some sediment. I can't get the snake very far either. My concern is that the previous owners might have dumped some materials down the drain, but all the other drains in the house seem to be fine. I can't locate the sewer clean out outside, and I'm not sure it would even help since the other drains are working. Should I just go ahead and call a plumber or is there anything else I could try?

Honestly, there should be a clean out somewhere. Have you checked if there's a vent that could be blocked? If all else fails, getting on the roof could help too—sometimes a good blast with a hose can dislodge things down below.
If snaking it didn't work, you might need to call a plumber. They have better equipment to handle stubborn clogs that you can’t reach yourself. It could be a more serious blockage that needs professional tools to clear. Better safe than sorry, especially since you’ve already put in a lot of effort!
If you're renting, definitely let your landlord know about this issue. They might need to bring in a professional to run a camera through the pipes to see exactly where the blockage is. Good luck!
Thanks for the tips! I’ll take a look for a clean out and then try the hose. Really hoping that does the trick.
