Help! My Cat Keeps Chewing My Plants—What Can I Do?

Asked By CatLuv99 On

I'm really struggling to keep my cat from biting my plants. I've tried getting cat grass, but my cat ignores it completely. I spent a lot of time getting my plant to grow, and now I want to save it and stop my cat from damaging it any further. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Try putting some cinnamon or citrus peels in the pots. I've heard that lemon slices can help keep cats away from your plants. It seems to deter them pretty well!

Honestly, your best bet is to keep the plants out of reach, like on high shelves or in hanging pots. Some people swear by putting aluminum foil in the soil as a deterrent, but it hasn't worked for me. My pets are pretty stubborn! If it's a spider plant, don't stress too much; the occasional nibble isn't the end of the world, but I totally understand the frustration!
