Help! My Cats Keep Eating My Plants – Any Tips?

I've got a situation where my cats, especially one of them, keep munching on my plants around the house, and it's driving me crazy! I know I might not be able to completely stop them, but I'm looking for any tips or tricks that have worked for others. If you've faced this before, I'd appreciate your suggestions!

One approach is to create a barrier. Try putting some pet-friendly plants between the ones they shouldn’t eat. You might also consider using plant cabinets to keep things out of reach. Cat grass or spider plants can be great distractions, too!

Consider growing some cat grass! If they have something that's more convenient and suitable to nibble on, they might leave your other plants alone.

I totally relate! I have over 50 plants and two cats, and one of them loves to snack on my greens if I'm late feeding them. Before you think of solutions, consider why your cat is doing this—is it bored, hungry, or even sick? Some plants, like spider plants, can even be enticing for cats. I keep my plants up high or in areas they can’t access. Introducing new plants slowly also helps me figure out which ones grab their attention. Just make sure you’re also keeping an eye on their health, especially with toxic plants around.
