I've been dealing with a clicking noise from my ceiling fan for the last 2-3 years, and it's really driving me nuts! The fan is in a room of my new construction house. At first, it wasn't noticeable, but now it happens at every speed and even when I manually spin the blades. I've already tried three different new fans, and they all eventually start clicking over time. I've tightened all the visible screws, swapped the smart switch for a regular one, and the mounting bracket seems secure. I'm starting to wonder if it's the junction box in the ceiling causing the issue. Does anyone have any other ideas I might be missing?

I had a similar problem with my fan driving my girlfriend crazy! I thought it was balanced, but I got a ceiling fan balancing kit from Walmart for just $5 and it made all the difference! If you hear the ticking, sometimes it's just a matter of adjusting those blades a bit more. But if your fan is truly wobble-free, it might not be that.
Have you checked the pull chain? Just in case it’s somehow snagging? But if that’s not it, it could indeed be something related to movement. Sometimes, a ceiling vent or furniture top can get jostled by the airflow from the fan, causing sounds we don’t usually notice. It's worth looking into!
It sounds like the junction box might still be a bit loose or not properly rated for a ceiling fan, which can definitely cause those annoying clicks. You could try rechecking that and see if anything is making contact with the box that you can’t see.
Interesting! But if there’s no visible wobble, could it really be an issue with balance?
