Help! My Deodorant Stopped Working—What Should I Try?

I've been using Mitchum Advanced Control deodorant for years with great success, but about a year ago they changed the formula to their new Triple Odor Protection, and now I'm really struggling. I can be sitting comfortably and still end up with noticeable wet pit stains, which is super embarrassing. I've tried every type of Mitchum, as well as Degree's 72-hour MotionSense, and even other brands like Dr. Squatch. Nothing seems to work! I shower daily with body wash, which helps a bit as long as I allow time to cool down before dressing, but that's not always an option. I'm hoping for suggestions on a more reliable deodorant or what else I can do, especially to minimize those wet spots. Any advice?

I faced the same problem until I decided to trim my armpit hair. It made a drastic difference for me! I'm still aware of sweat sometimes, but it helped tremendously without needing a doctor visit. Just made my routine simpler.

Trimming is a great tip! I've done it too and found it helps a lot.

Certain-Dri is my lifesaver! It's super strong and has kept my pits dry. I usually apply it right after a shower and let it sit for a few minutes. Just a note, it’s been hard to find in Canada lately, so I had to order online from the US.

I've been using Certain Dri too; it's fantastic! I even use it on my feet.

Remember to apply it the night before for the best results!

You should also consider upping your wardrobe game! Thompson Tees has these amazing undershirts with sweat-absorbing pads. They're a game changer for people who sweat a lot, like me. I hardly worry about pit stains anymore when I wear them.

Totally agree! Those shirts are excellent.

Don't forget that significant changes in sweat patterns can be medical concerns. You might want to see a doctor who can prescribe clinical strength antiperspirant or discuss other treatment options, like Botox or MiraDry, which is more permanent. It's been a life-saver for me since I have hyperhidrosis.

I've heard about MiraDry! Definitely worth considering.

It sounds like your previous deodorant had aluminum compounds that might have been more effective for you. You might want to try Old Spice, as they still use Aluminum Zirconium. It has a range of fragrances too, so you can pick one you like. Just a heads up though, some people have reported skin irritation with it, so proceed with caution!

I tried Old Spice and ended up with chemical burns, so I'd be careful with that one.

Old Spice Soft Solid works great for me, but everyone's different. Just be wary!
