Help! My Dog Ruined My Garden—What Should I Do?

Hey everyone! So yesterday my dog jumped into my garden where I just transplanted tomatoes and planted other seeds. He dug around and messed everything up, and now I'm worried none of my plants will survive. I'm not sure if I should wait a couple weeks to see if anything grows, dig everything up and start fresh, or just buy some already grown plants and put them in now. I'm definitely putting up a fence to prevent this in the future! What do you think?

I recommend replanting your seeds. I had a similar issue with squirrels digging in my garden, and nothing grew after that. It’s really tough to salvage jumbled seeds, so starting over might be the best bet!

Also, consider giving your dog a designated digging area. Dogs are crafty when it comes to fences! And remember, if you take away something they enjoy, replace it with something they'll love to keep them distracted.

FuzzyPawz91: That’s a good idea! He’s only about 15 months old, and I sometimes forget how young he is. He’s usually so good with the kids, but I guess I should’ve planned better since it was a fresh garden!
