I accidentally dropped a small glass jar of tiger balm into my garbage disposal, and since then, it has completely stopped working—no sounds at all when I flip the switch. I've tried rinsing it with hot soapy water and removed a tiny piece of glass and the jar lid, but it still won't turn on. It feels like it might not have power anymore. Can anyone assist a struggling old lady?

It sounds like the reset button may have popped out when the jar fell. Make sure all the glass is out, and if it keeps making noise with nothing in it, that's a good sign it might just be jammed. Use tongs to check inside and ensure nothing is wedged. If you unplug it for a bit and then plug it back in, sometimes that resets it.
First, check your circuit breaker to see if something tripped there. Then, look for the reset button on the bottom of the disposal—you might need to press that. If it still doesn’t work, try using an Allen wrench to turn the mechanism at the bottom a bit; sometimes it can get stuck! Good luck!
I completely understand your frustration! Check again for any hidden glass pieces—you wouldn’t believe how tricky they can be. Also, letting it sit unplugged for a few minutes before trying again can sometimes help. If you hear it wanting to run, it could just be jammed up really tight.
