I live in zone 8A, and this was the best gardening year I've ever had! I was so excited about my harvest until the past week when my garden just fell apart. Everything that was thriving just a couple of weeks ago has wilted—zucchini, cucumbers, and tomatoes. I suspect squash vine borers got to some of my zucchini, despite my best efforts to prevent it. I'm feeling pretty bummed but I'm wondering if I can still throw down some seeds for new plants before it gets cooler. Has anyone else had this happen?

It seems your plants might not have handled the heat well. Were you watering them daily? It's crucial to soak the soil thoroughly, especially if rain hasn't been consistent. And if they’re in full sun with no shade, that could be making things worse.,
Don’t lose hope just yet! You still have time to plant short-season cucumbers and tomatoes before frost hits. If your zucchini doesn’t make it, you can always re-sow. For future gardens, consider trying hardier squash varieties that are less prone to being affected by pests.
It sounds like you're not alone in this! A lot of folks are dealing with intense heat that hit abruptly, which seems to be causing troubles for many gardens right now. That sudden change could definitely be part of the issue and why your plants are struggling.
