Hey everyone! I'm having a bit of trouble with my gas dryer. Out of the blue, it just stopped heating, even though everything else seems to be running fine. I let it run for about 8 hours after we returned from vacation with a mountain of laundry, and the next day it wouldn't heat at all. We've already taken it apart and checked everything with a multimeter, but it all looks okay. One thing I did notice was a piece of insulation from the cabinet that got too close to the igniter and burnt a bit. I called a few appliance repair companies, but they want $100 just to come take a look, and honestly, the dryer isn't worth that much money. Any ideas on what could be wrong or what I should do?

There’s usually a little viewing port on the front of the dryer. Try starting a cycle while peeking through that hole. You should see the igniter glow and hear the gas valve solenoids snap if it's working properly.
You might want to consider checking the igniter itself. Sometimes they can fail without obvious signs. Maybe take a look if it’s glowing when you start the dryer.
Have you checked if your dryer vent duct is clear of lint? That can sometimes cause heating issues. It’s pretty common!
Just cleaned it last week!
What are the symptoms exactly? Does it even fire up at all?
How do I know if it fires? Haha, it never heats up at all.
Yes, we checked it and it was fine.
