Hi everyone, I need some advice. There's construction happening next door for a new duplex, and they dug a big hole in December. With the recent thaw and heavy snow, I've just come home to find the side of my house has collapsed! I've already notified my insurance and have an inspector coming to check it out. The contractor will also come by to fix things up. Is there anything else I should do? And do you think I need to replace the A/C unit? Any guidance would be appreciated! Thanks!

You might want to consider getting in touch with a lawyer. This situation could turn complicated, especially if the construction work influenced the collapse. They'll help you understand your rights and what steps to take next.
Definitely reach out to the contractor of the duplex and their insurance. You've already done a good job starting with your own insurance and the inspector. Also, it's smart to keep records of everything, including any communication you've had with the city or other authorities.
