Help! My Kitchen Sink Won’t Drain – What Should I Do?

I'm dealing with a frustrating situation: my kitchen's single basin sink isn't draining. The garbage disposal is working fine, but it's just swirling the water around without actually draining it, even after I run it for a minute. I tried to troubleshoot by checking the disposal blades using a screwdriver and resetting it via the button on the bottom. There's no visible blockage in the disposal. I even removed the p trap pipe to check for clogs, and it was completely clear. The same goes for the pipe connecting the disposal to the p trap. I did think about using the baking soda and vinegar trick, but I'm skeptical it will help. It seems like the clog might be within the disposal itself. Now I'm weighing my options: Should I call a plumber (which could be pricey), replace the disposal (it's $70 on Amazon and says it's easy to install), or try to take the disposal apart myself? I'm also open to other ideas. Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

You could try removing the p trap and running water through it to see how quickly it flows out of the drain. This can help you figure out if the clog is further up the line instead of in the disposal itself. If the water runs freely, then you might be looking at something beyond the disposal causing the issue.

That's a solid point! If that's the case, then something upstream might need attention. Just make sure to isolate each section as you go.
