Help! My Landlord Painted My Bathtub – How Do I Fix This?

So, my landlord decided to paint the bathtub, and now it's chipping and looks terrible no matter what I do to clean it. I'm really frustrated! Does anyone have advice on how I can remove this paint without damaging the tub underneath?

Remember, they didn’t paint *your* bathtub – they painted *their* bathtub, since you're renting. They have the final say in how things are maintained. Just be cautious before making any repairs or changes; it could lead to issues down the line.

First off, you should definitely inform your landlord about the paint issue. They probably opted for a low-quality tub refinishing job. Make sure to keep a record of all your communications with them. Request that they fix it or at least let you take care of it yourself.

Yeah, definitely document everything! You might also want to consider getting a professional opinion if they refuse to fix it.

Exactly! It’s important to have proof in case you need to argue for them to take responsibility.

Just a heads-up: if this isn't latex paint, you might be in for a tough time. Continuing to document any peeling is key, as getting the tub replaced might ultimately be easier than trying to scrape all that paint off, especially if it's covering up other issues.

Totally agree! Sometimes replacing the whole thing could save you more headache.

For sure! Especially if the paint is hiding worse problems.

Do you have any photos of the damage? That could help others give you better advice on what to do next!

It’s super important to talk to your landlord first before attempting any repairs or changes. Always get their approval and keep everything documented for your own protection.
